Call for Proposals
Our theme this year is “Don’t Fence Me in: Frontierism and the American West.”
This year’s theme includes topics such as: Geography, Western History, Mining, People and Politics, Communities, and Native American subjects exploring Frontierism and the American West and we invite and encourage papers related to any aspect of Nevada History, the Great Basin or the West. Additionally, a poster session will be held on Saturday, focusing on any of the above topics.
Please submit an abstract (250 words maximum) and a brief biography to the Director of the Nevada Historical Society with the subject line ‘NHS Conference 2017,’ along with your contact information (mailing address, phone number, and email address) by April 1, 2017.
A committee will review proposals and will notify participants by July 1, 2017. For those with an interest in the poster session, please submit your topic by brief biography to the same contact by the same deadline as shown above. Poster sizes may not exceed 48″x 36″, and will be showcased for the duration of the conference with an organized presentation scheduled for Saturday.
Outstanding paper presentations will be considered for inclusion in the Nevada Historical Society Quarterly.
