The Arts Learning Program supports lifelong learning in the arts by promoting and expanding quality arts education opportunities for all Nevada citizens through statewide initiatives, grants and professional development opportunities.


FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES


ARTIST RESIDENCY EXPRESS GRANT
The Artist Residency Express (AREx) Grant is designed for community and educational sponsors to host a short-term artist residency (one to three days). AREx grants are offered on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the year while funds are available. Read more

ARTS LEARNING COMPONENT-PARTNERS IN EXCELLENCE GRANT (PIE)
To support and expand arts learning programming offered by Nevada’s nonprofit arts organizations, the PIE grant category includes an Arts Learning Component. The Arts Learning Component is an add-on funding opportunity designed to support arts organizations with existing arts education/learning programs and to encourage other arts organizations to establish an arts education/learning program as part of their portfolio of services. ARTS LEARNING PROJECT GRANT
The Arts Learning Project Grant is an annual grants which supports imaginative arts learning projects and artist residencies. Read more

JACKPOT GRANT
Quarterly Jackpot grants provide funding up to $1000 for individuals and organizations whose project involves the planning, implementation, and/or evaluation of arts education programs. Read more

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANT
Professional Development Grants (PDG) promote the continuing education of Nevada’s nonprofit arts industry to advance their work and careers through attendance at regional or national conferences, workshops, or seminars for skills training. Read more

ARTISTS IN SCHOOLS + COMMUNITIES ROSTER (AIS+C)
AIS+C Roster is designed as an online resource for schools, organizations and communities to broaden and diversify participation in the arts through the engagement of artists in educational and community cultural residencies and programs. Read more

ARTS LICENSE PLATE
Drive home your support of the arts with a “Rich in Art” license plate. For each plate issued, $15 of the initial fee and $10 of the renewal fee supports statewide arts education programs of the Nevada Arts Council and VSA arts of Nevada. Read more

POETRY OUT LOUD
The National Endowment for the Arts and The Poetry Foundation have partnered with State Arts Agencies to support the expansion of Poetry Out Loud, which encourages the nation’s youth to learn about great poetry through memorization and performance. Read more

Registration to participate in the 2017 Nevada Poetry Out Loud Program is open through December 2016. High school-aged students and high-school teachers are encouraged to experience this dynamic program – structured similarly to the National Spelling Bee – but with a focus on poetry through memorization and performance of classic and contemporary works. Registration is open to all Nevada public, private, charter, parochial and alternative schools and home school associations. Read more and register. STAFF & TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

The Arts Learning Program offers research, guidance and referrals for the development of arts education projects and plans. AL staff can assist in identifying and applying for alternative sources for funding that support arts education, and provide material support for arts education advocacy.
