Videos of the Recipients of the Governor’s Arts Awards
Inaugurated in 1979 the Governor’s Arts Awards (GAA) became an annual event the following year. The videos feature the GAA Recipients from the 31st Award Ceremony, 30th Award Ceremony, 29th Award Ceremony, 28th Award Ceremony, 27th Award Ceremony and 26th Award Ceremony.
These short videos were created for the 2013 Arts @ the Heart Convening, an annual gathering for Nevada’s cultural workforce and community leaders. The videos feature Carson City, Ely, Hawthorne, Lovelock, Reno and Tuscarora.
This weekly half-hour program features the many offerings of the former Department of Cultural Affairs and its divisions – Nevada Arts Council, State Library and Archives, Museums and History and Historic Preservation Office. Aired by more than a dozen channels throughout Nevada and California, Exploring Nevada goes behind the scenes to explore the work of artists, cultural leaders, historians, archivists, anthropologists and librarians, as well as Nevada’s museums, galleries, communities and cultural events.
